Serving the Lord Abroad

Beinvenidos! We are Daniel and Marie Lowitz, two of your LCMS international missionaries heading to the Dominican Republic in April of 2026! Our focus is on the three main pillars which the LCMS International Mission stands upon, spreading the Gospel, planting Lutheran churches, and showing mercy. We plan to work towards these three pillars in all we do in order to best serve the Lord abroad.

Romans 10:14-15

“How then will they call on him whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’”

Who
We Are

Daniel and Marie Lowitz will be ESL teachers and Outreach Specialists in Santiago, DR. Together, they will work to grow the youth volleyball program which has been a gateway to spread the Gospel, show mercy, and guide others to the Lutheran churches that have been planted in the DR.

They also intend to help as ESL teachers in whatever capacity that may entail. This could include teaching English as a second language to the youth or to adults who would like to communicate better in English.

Daniel graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2023 with a degree in Business Entrepreneurship. Upon his final semester, he realized he had a deep passion for youth ministry through Concordia’s youth ministry program and through working at the NLOMA camp, Camp LuWiSoMo. Since then, Daniel has been looking to serve the Lord in whatever way he can as both a camp counselor and as a volunteer at church lock-ins.

Marie also graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin but in 2025 with a degree as a Director of Church Ministries (DCM). Marie has always known she wanted to be a missionary since she was seven years old and went to a Native American reservation and first met someone who didn’t know the name Jesus.

In May 2025, Daniel and Marie got married and then in September accepted the call to become international missionaries. They could not be more excited to serve the Lord in this capacity, and are incredibly grateful and blessed to have this opportunity.
